That must have taken hours to put together. It's very well done! Poverty issues seem complicated to me. There are so many variables involved, but I've seen them at work, especially in a few of my students this year in particular. At times it felt like my hands were tied, like I wasn't able to fix their problems, like they needed way more than I could provide. There were days when they weren't even able to learn, and all I could really do was provide them with a safe, loving environment.

It did take some time - and especially because I'm a bit of a perfectionist on these types of things. Thanks for the compliment on it - hope my prof thinks the same :)
DeleteI agree that poverty is complicated with all sorts of issues. And it's really hard to figure out what's the best way to help. I really feel I missed the boat with one little friend last year. You are so right about the safe, loving environment - that is doable!

DeleteSara, your movie was fantastic! My school I'm leaving this year is a high poverty school and your film was completely correct!!! It's odd because sometimes priorities are so different for them. Most of the kids in my class had all of the latest electronic gadget...things I tell Delaney we can't afford, but their home is practically falling in on top of them. I could name more, but I will stop for now. Great job!!!
